The Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region is pleased to announce the reception of a significant grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation in support of its Starting Point program and The Monthlies Project. This grant marks another milestone in advancing the organization’s mission to promote the advancement of women and girls in the Fox Valley Region.

The generous support from the Green Bay Packers Foundation will provide vital resources to the Starting Point program, a collaborative program in partnership with Fox Valley Technical College and B.A.B.E.S. Child Abuse Prevention Program to help women improve their long-term financial security through post-secondary education. This program uses a two-generation approach which provides opportunities for vulnerable children and parents together. This is one of the only programs in the Fox Valley specifically working to reduce poverty of female-headed households. This two-generation approach focuses on the needs of both the mom and the child to have the best chance of disrupting generational poverty.

With this grant, the Women’s Fund aims to expand the reach and impact of Starting Point, enabling more women to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable livelihoods for their families.

Additionally, a grant was awarded to The Monthlies Project, a community initiative dedicated to providing menstrual hygiene products to school-aged students in Northeastern Wisconsin and bringing awareness to the issue of period poverty and the educational inequity it creates. As a founding member of The Monthlies Project, the Women’s Fund is proud to accept this grant on behalf of the initiative.

With the support of the Green Bay Packers Foundation, The Monthlies Project will be able to amplify its efforts in combating period poverty and promoting menstrual equity throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Green Bay Packers Foundation for their generous support of the Starting Point program and The Monthlies Project,” said Julie Keller, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region. “Both of these grants will have a profound impact in making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and girls in our community and region. Together, we are working towards a future where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.”

The Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region extends its sincere appreciation to the Green Bay Packers Foundation for their commitment to advancing gender equity and supporting initiatives that empower women and girls. This partnership exemplifies the collective effort needed to create positive change and build a more inclusive society.
