Giving Circle

The true power of a woman is in the ripple her impact creates and the ripples can reach further when we come together. A giving circle is a way for you to come together with others that want to empower women and girls and make lasting change.

What is a giving circle? When a group of people aligned to a specific cause, geography or identity, donate a certain amount of money periodically (e.g. monthly, quarterly or yearly), pool those funds together and collaboratively decide which nonprofits will receive their collective donation.

Giving and granting through the Women’s Fund is a way for you to have a greater impact on the issues facing women and girls. By joining others, you have the power to make change.

Check out this TED talk, Your invitation to disrupt philanthropy by Sara Lomelin where she shares about her giving circle and how she thinks communities can build power through collective giving. Learn the four steps to start a thriving giving circle in your community — and see how thousands of people worldwide are already part of this movement to usher in a new era of philanthropy that is democratic and joyful.
