Welcome to our summer intern

The Women’s Fund is pleased to welcome Suzanne Hones as our summer intern! Suzanne will be with us through our Women’s Fund Luncheon, and in addition to helping with social media and planning for the big event, she will be evaluating the Girls’ Grantmaking Project and its long-term impact on participants of the program, as well as helping with various office duties.

Suzanne is from West Plains, Missouri, but she arrived in Appleton in 2013 as a freshman at Lawrence University. She just graduated this past June from Lawrence with a degree in linguistics and French and Francophone studies. While in school, she was a member of student government, the student newspaper, and Women’s Longboarding Club. (“It’s basically a long skateboard,” she says.) Suzanne was also a senior class officer.

Her plans following the Women’s Fund include heading to France to work as an English teaching assistant for seven months. Before going off on this grand adventure, though, she says, “I’m really happy to be getting invaluable professional experience at a place that supports such great causes right here in the Fox Valley. I’ve enjoyed working with this team so far and can’t wait to get to know the Women’s Fund community even better.”

Wish Suzanne “Bon courage!” as she prepares to leave for France (“and as I figure out what I want to do after that!” she says).
