The Women’s Fund was originally created to meet the needs of women and girls in the Fox Valley Community. The Fund’s founders recognized that to create a just and sustainable society, women need to have a voice, so an endowment fund was established. The earnings from this permanent source of funding are used on an annual basis to address the specific needs of women and girls. Through the Women’s Fund’s competitive grants process, area nonprofit organizations are awarded funding for their work supporting women and girls.
In order to create the social change necessary to empower women and girls to reach their full potential, the Women’s Fund must do more than grant dollars to worthy community programs. As an organization, the Women’s Fund is working to educate on the current state of women in girls in our community; highlight organizations and programs that successfully address the issues impacting women and girls; and identify strategies that provide both immediate and long-term solutions to many of the challenges facing our community.
